Below find
information pertaining to Truckee tournament teams. If you have
questions, please direct them to either your manager or division
coordinator. This information will be updated in the next few weeks
as we receive more specific information.
Tournament dates:
District tournaments -- Renegades (9/10 year old team)
Hosted by Carson Valley LL at Aspen park -- tournament will begin
on or about June 18th
(practices will begin on June 15th. Tournament lasts a minimum of
4 days and can continue depending on elimination)
All Stars
9/10, 10/11, 11/12
Hosted by Washoe LL beginning around June 28th.
9/10 and 10/11 will begin first. The 11/12 will start sometime before
the 9/10 and 10/11 tournaments are finished.
Rosters will need to be certified sometime around June 25th... This
means all paperwork from players due. No exceptions. No extensions.
(practices will begin around 6/15. Tournament lasts minimum of 4
game days-not necessarily consecutive and can continue depending
on elimination)
Who is eligible?
Players in the majors and minor divisions aged 9-12 are eligible
to be nominated for the all-star or renegade tournaments based on
their playing ability and skill, sportsmanship, as well as their
commitment to the regular season team and future commitment to all
tournament games and practices.
How are teams selected?
Major players will be voting for the top major 10 players to be
placed on all-star teams. Voting takes place June 1st at scheduled
practices, overseen by both player agent and all-star coordinator.
Per directive from LL rule book , Tournament teams are to be made
up of players with exceptional skill and ability. TLL believes that
good sportsmanship should be taken into consideration as well. Managers
from both the major and minor divisions will nominate players from
their team as well as other teams in their divisions, however managers
are not eligible to vote for their own players. The manager-nominated-approved
players will make up the balance of the tournament teams. Number
of players per team will not exceed 14 players and will not have
less than 11 players. The number of players will be determined by
the managers of the tournament teams and approved by the board of
directors.
When are the Tournament teams announced?
All Star Announcements will be made Sunday, June 15th at midnight
via the TLL website!! By Tournament rules, early announcement of
tournament teams may result in disqualification of entire league
from all tournament play. Practices may not begin earlier than June
15th.
Who is eligible to coach and/or manage a tournament team?
Any current rostered major or minor coach or manager interested
in managing or coaching a renegade or all-star team should notify
their division coordinator prior to the June 8th all star coaches
meeting. Managers will be approved by the board of directors.
If selected to a tournament team, what commitment is involved?
First and foremost, you must be available for all the tournament
games as well as the practices. While it is an honor to be placed
on these teams, it is not fair to the other players or the coaches
if your child isn't available for the all practices and all games.
Since the number of players is limited by tournament rules and the
number of coaches able to participate in the game is determined
by the number of players at each game, it is a big deal if you can't
make a full commitment. Please do not take this lightly. Notify
your manager immediately if you are not able to make a full commitment
to the tournament team. After rosters are certified, we are not
allowed to place alternates on these teams, and we will be playing
short of not only players, but coaches as well!
If selected to a tournament team, what information do I
need to provide?
1. Proof of age
Certified birth certificate to prove age (passports, abstracts of
birth or informational birth certificates are NOT accepted). Please
see http://www.littleleague.org/media/Birth_Certificate_Service_11-12-07.asp
for information on ordering certified birth certificate.
2. Proof of residency -- these items must have PHYSICAL LOCAL ADDRESS
-- NOT A PO BOX!!! Physical local service addresses ok. (for example,
a phone bill mailed to your PO BOX but showing your local physical
service address is ok. A bank account statement showing only PO
BOX is not ok.
Residence shall be established and supported by documents from THREE
OR MORE of the following categories to determine residency:
A .) Driver’s License
B.) Voter’s Registration
C.) School records
D.) Welfare/child care records
E.) Federal records
F.) State records
